Published!
I came home this afternoon from a very trying day to find a package on my front porch. It was my copy of Deanna Buxton's Worldwide Ward Cookbook. I immediately started looking through it stopping to salivate over Cowboy Cavier (I've had this before!) and Pecan-Crusted Chicken Tenders with Tangy Maple Dressing (yum). Then, there it was... page 153! My recipe for Green and Gold Casserole and my note explaining about the history of the dish.
Now this isn't your run of the mill (but still incredibly wonderful) ward or stake cookbook that we all have in our collection, marked with our favorites. This is a slick, professionally published and marketed through Deseret Books cookbook.
And it has my recipe in it. Whoo hoo! The way this cookbook came to be is pretty neat. Deanna Buxton put out the call to her friends as well as those who were members of different LDS internet lists. I came upon her request for recipes through the Missionary Moms list. But I never dreamed I would be included in her final compilation. The book has some really great recipes and even features a section of recipes that were the favorites of some of the prophets.

Valentines Day 2009
We celebrated Valentines Day this year just like I wanted. Instead of flowers Tommy treated me to getting my hair cut and dyed. We ordered Chinese take out for the three of us (Carl was out so it was just me, Tommy and Ter Bear). Then we babysat Andrew so Matt and Heather could go out. Andrew loves music and while channel surfing we came across a vintage episode of the Lawrence Welk Show.
